Ground Beef Stroganoff

A comforting and rich dish combining ground beef and earthy mushrooms in a creamy sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 ounces egg noodles (or rice)

Instructions

  1. Chop onions and garlic, slice mushrooms, and gather spices and liquids.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add a splash of oil and brown the ground beef until golden.
  3. Add onions and garlic to the skillet, stirring until onions are translucent. Toss in mushrooms and sauté until tender.
  4. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, allowing it to simmer for 3 minutes.
  5. Lower the heat and fold in sour cream until creamy, avoiding boiling.
  6. Ladle over cooked egg noodles or rice and garnish with fresh herbs.

Notes

For best flavor, brown the beef well and keep heat low when adding sour cream to maintain creaminess.
